It’s not always a requirement for you to be an Information technology or Computer Science graduate for you to be titled Professional Webmaster. There might be a lot of employers that require their applicants to be a Bachelor’s Degree holder before they are even qualified for application. But, there are also jobs that require you to be experienced not just by the mere fact that you have graduated a four year course. One such job is being a webmaster. Being a webmaster is not simply being a programmer or website manager. This is a tough job and not exactly the dream job for most people, but as with anything there are pros and cons to being a webmaster.

- Money – There isn’t really a specific salary range for a professional webmaster, this will depends on the skills, level of professionalism, certification and tenure. The more expert you are in this field the more money you can earn since a good webmaster can manage multiple sites at once.

- Might work overtime but no overtime pay – If the webmaster is a freelancer most of the time, he or she will be paid “fixed price” or by project basis.

- Sleepless nights – There are times you may find yourself working more than 24 hours in a row. Especially for a passionate and perfectionist webmasters, that will affect your personal life unless you are prepared for it.
These are just some of the pros and cons. Indeed being a webmaster is not just a title, there are a lot of things that you need to prove before you can be called as a professional webmaster. It’s not always about the money but most of the time it’s about the satisfaction that you can feel after long hours of work.
