eCommerce + eMarketing
Marketing Your Business Effectively
Once you have constructed an effective and appealing eCommerce site it is time for sales and marketing. An eCommerce solution without marketing is like a racing car without wheels. It is capable of winning the race but it is not going anywhere.
Online marketing has both a creative and a technical/analytical component. At DivisionX we excel in the latter more numbers-oriented side. Activities like A/B testing, log analysis, link-building, integrated mailing-list systems, directory submission, and managing PPC and CPM campaigns. Some of the marketing activities we provide straddle both the technical and creative worlds. chief among these is SEO.
Since our inception in 1998 we have worked happily with literally thousands of creative and social media agencies and individuals, many of whom have become our own customers. Creative companies by their nature do not like the more scientific and technical tasks we revel in. It is best to keep these two worlds separate and not have your creative team manage your technical marketing and web hosting services and vice versa. When you choose us as your partners you are getting the best of both worlds.
There are certain marketing efforts that need to be done during and shortly after development. At DivisionX we have a proven in-house methodology for building the foundation for your marketing efforts. You can of course take over or outsource these more technical marketing steps but we strongly advise you against this because, by their very nature, these are not the sort of thing creatives would excel at.
There are other marketing efforts such as email, CRM, and inbound marketing that can only be done after development has been completed. Yet others such as marketing on social media can be done before the development has even begun. We generally work with you or your chosen agency that specializes in these types of marketing or we can recommend one or more of them to you. Whatever you decide, you will need a solid foundation to build your marketing efforts on.
There is a great deal of information on the web about what is and is not important but these are not usually based on facts. Even if they were correct last year, they will very likely not be correct this year. In any given year Google will make a few major and many minor algorithm changes. That is why you need a company that can keep up with the changes and has years of actual real-life experience.
